Vita Education Services is looking for volunteers to benefit adult learners in our community. This January- February, Vita is offering a Basic Literacy Tutor Training session to prepare volunteers to work with small groups in Bensalem and Bristol, or with individuals in the Bucks County Correctional Facility in Doylestown. Tutors will help students improve their literacy skills and become more confident readers, writers, and critical thinkers. No previous teaching experience is needed to become a tutor, although a Bachelor’s degree is required of literacy tutors, who must be at least 21 years of age.
The 10-hour training will be held on Sat., Jan. 25, and Feb. 1, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Pennswood Village in Newtown. Registration is necessary as space is limited. Call 215-345-8322 to register or Click Here to access the registration flyer.
