Vita Education Services Receives $10K Contribution from First Federal of Bucks County

Doylestown, PA (August 22, 2012)  First Federal of Bucks County presented a gift of $10,000 to Vita Education Services to be used to help assist in funding the vital literacy programs that Vita offers.

Bruce C. Iacobucci, First Federal’s President and CEO, along with Jeane Coyle, EVP/Chief Administrative Officer, and Marilyn Giller, First Federal’s Newtown Branch Manager and a Vita Board of Director, presented the check to Linda Wolfson, Executive Director of Vita, at the First Federal Loan and Administrative Center in Yardley.

“We’re very pleased to be able to continue our support to Vita and the significant good it does in the community” said Iacobucci “With the changing economy and the levels of federal and state funding given to organizations like Vita decreasing, we are happy to be able to assist in the need for literacy programs to help Bucks County residents.”

Vita Education Services offers programs in literacy, Decisions for Living, and Decisions for Teens. It provides classes, one-on-one tutoring and small group instruction in Literacy and ESL at ten sites within the county. Also, a family literacy program is offered in Bensalem in collaboration with Head Start, and at FDR Middle School in collaboration with Bristol Township School District. In addition, they serve both men and women in the Bucks County Correctional Facility with literacy, Decisions, and job-readiness programs. The Decisions for Teens is a  copyrighted curriculum that helps teens’ awareness in decision making and problem solving.
